Galveston Oasis Class itineraries

Allure of the Seas Galveston itineraries will feature a regular rotation of Roatan, Costa Maya, and Cozumel.

Royal Caribbean announced last week that the Allure of the Seas, an Oasis Class ship, will sail from Galveston. Galveston Cruise Reviews has closely monitored the release of the actual schedules. Now, things are official. The first Galveston Oasis Class sailing will be November 4, 2021. Allure of the Seas will sail a 4 night cruise to Cozumel. Starting November 10, Allure of the Seas Galveston itineraries will feature regular runs to Roatan, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. We also expect an additional ship to sail from Galveston.

The Allure will initially sail a 4 night cruise. Leaving Wednesday, November 10, 2021 she will sail for 4 nights and visit Cozumel. Starting November 14, 2021, she will depart every Sunday through at least April 2022. Those cruises will feature two days at sea, visits to Roatan, Costa Maya, and Cozumel, and then one more sea day. Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of choices if Royal continues to sail 7 night itineraries from Galveston. Oasis Class ships are too large for Key West. They also do not use tenders, and that means Grand Cayman isn’t an option. Falmouth, Jamaica would be an option. However, it isn’t featured on any of the present itineraries. Cruises are available to book now.

What about a second ship?

While that answers the question about Galveston Oasis Class itineraries, it does leave one other question. Will Royal Caribbean add a second ship to Galveston? They have sailed two ships from Galveston for the last several years. The second ship usually sails 4 and 5 night trips to Mexico. It is possible that Royal has decided not to do this since the Allure represents a huge jump in capacity. However, consider me skeptical. I expect Royal to announce another ship sailing from Galveston.

The Adventure of the Seas departs Galveston in Spring 2021. That leaves only the Liberty of the Seas through October. It also means the Allure is the only ship starting November 2021. A quick search reveals that 8 ships do not have assigned itineraries for July 2021. The Brilliance, Grandeur, Independence, Mariner, Navigator, Quantum, Spectrum, and Voyager of the Seas do not yet have Summer 2021 homeports. Galveston Cruise Reviews will continue to monitor Royal Caribbean’s plans, and we will post details as soon as we have them.
